How do I get a quote for my event?
We’re so glad you’re interested in working with The Atlanta Trio! We will need your event date and venue location in order to provide a quote, so please use our contact form to send us this information along with other pertinent details. We will get back to you as soon as possible with your date’s availability and pricing options!
What is the booking process?
In order to reserve your date, we will send you a contract to sign and return with a non-refundable deposit. Once this is complete your date is set in our calendar!
How many instruments are in your group?
We are a string trio, which is three musicians: a violin, a viola, and a cello.
Can you add another instrument or a singer?
We can usually add another instrument or a singer for a performance of a spotlighted song or two; however, this requires additional fees over our base cost to accommodate rehearsal time, booking additional musicians, and writing the requested music.
Can I book you as a string quartet?
Since most of the music in our library is written for three musicians instead of four, we do not offer a string quartet option.
Will you play outside?
From March to October, yes, we will absolutely play outside! Please be aware that our wooden instruments cannot be in direct sunlight or rain, so we do require shade outdoors and a fully covered/indoor option in the case of inclement weather. We do not provide outdoor services from November through February.
How much space do you need to play?
We need enough flat space for three people to comfortably sit in a semicircle of chairs out of the way of your guests. Please note that in order to play our instruments we need room to move our bows, so we will need three chairs without armrests and with plenty of space between them.
Do you need amplification?
We do not need amplification indoors unless the space is unusually large or not resonant. If you are planning a large gathering outdoors and there is not any source of natural amplification nearby, we do recommend a single mic on a mic stand.
Can you provide sound equipment?
To keep our costs down for our clients, we do not provide any type of amplification equipment for events; however, your officiant, band, or DJ likely has some sound equipment they don’t mind sharing for the ceremony!
How many songs do I need to select for my event?
You will not need to choose every song for your event. Typically, you can let us know your favorite genres (examples: rock, classical, movie music) or a few of your favorite songs or artists, and we can shape your event around that.
What parts of a wedding ceremony do you play for?
Every wedding is unique, but our typical ceremony structure includes the following:
What if I want a song that is not on your music list?
We do offer custom music requests for an additional fee. We ask for a minimum of two months’ notice on special requests, and we also reserve the right to approve choices first, as some songs are not well-suited to a small acoustic string ensemble. We are happy to guide you in whether your song choice will work well, but one thing you can try is humming your preferred song to see if you still like the way it sounds without the words.
I love the sound of strings, but I’m not very familiar with music titles or artists. How do I choose the music for my event?
This is totally fine! Part of what you are getting when you work with us is our consultation services. We can help as much or as little as is needed, and can even choose your music for you. We are experts as well when it comes to making your event or ceremony music flow together beautifully. We offer a huge array of musical selections, and we look forward to helping you tailor our list for your event.
